For the Museum of the City of New York's 100th anniversary my team at RadicalMedia concepted, designed, produced and installed an immersive multi-screen art installation that celebrated a century of NYC as a setting, character and catalyst in cinema.

➔ Multi-Screen Film Collage
The YOU ARE HERE art installation/film drew on the rich archive of movies set in New York, combining thousands of cinematic moments across multiple screens.
Sources included shots and sounds cut from over 400 Hollywood feature films, independent films, documentaries, and experimental film works.
By juxtaposing these multiple visions, the dazzling montages of this immersive film installation make connections and contrasts that allow movies to comment on each other across time and space. Together, they shed new light on the varied New Yorks of our collective imagination.
Within the Museum the film was displayed on a custom linear array of 16 large OLED screens that wrapped around visitors on 3 sides — fully enveloping them in both sight and sound.
At times during the edit, all of the screens in the array would move through thematic take-overs that transformed the mood of the entire room.
